Methodology

Data has been collected through a combination of desk research and analysis of official national sources. Information was verified against the most recent guidance from national immunisation programmes, public health institutes, and international bodies such as the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

Where data is unavailable or unclear, we have noted gaps as ‘no data’. The Atlas presents the most recent data wave (2025), allowing comparison with the previous wave (2023) to highlight progress, policy changes, and remaining challenges in pneumococcal prevention and vaccine access.

Wave 1 (2023) data has primarily been taken from data sources in 2021, while Wave 2 (2025) data has been taken from data sources in 2024 (unless stated otherwise).
